CRYSTAL LAKE – Those struggling to find a place to turn for help or to show someone where to get help could find answers at the People in Need Forum at McHenry County College on Jan. 25.

The event, set to run from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will show a variety of social services available to those in McHenry County. The event can be especially helpful for community volunteers, city leaders and faith-based organizations in showing where to direct people in need.

Sessions will include information on bullying, technology safety, mental health, recovery, worksite wellness, unemployment issues, health care and tips for the safety and care of seniors. Information on veterans’ issues also will be available.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to offer some of the most crucial information that is needed by so many in the McHenry County area,” said Bev Thomas, chairperson for the forum, in a press release. “Nowhere else is it possible to learn so much about how to help our neighbors in one morning.”

All attendees will receive a packet and a flash drive containing information on the entire resource directory in McHenry County.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Registration can be done at www.mchenry.edu/peopleinneed.
