JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin police say a 20-year-old Huntley man accidentally shot his teenage sister in the arm, thinking she was an intruder.

A Janesville Gazette report (http://bit.ly/1ksuhUL ) says the man arrived in Janesville, Wis., on Monday to visit family.

Police say he didn't know his 13-year-old sister was home Wednesday afternoon. She had just gotten out of bed and he could hear movement in her room, and he figured someone was trying to break into the house through her bedroom window.

He got his father's 9 mm handgun and fired through the bedroom door. The bullet hit the girl's right triceps and also caused a flesh wound on her upper body.

Deputy police Chief Dan Davis says he plans to recommend a felony charge of recklessly endangering safety.
