ISBDC announces new small business seminars
McHENRY – The Illinois Small Business Development Center is offering new seminars in February, including one aimed at teaching business owners how to measure the success of social media campaigns.
Other seminars focus on topics such as what is needed to start a business or how to create a business plan.
Registration is underway for the following seminars in February:
“Starting a Business in Illinois” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4. This two-hour seminar is aimed at pre-venture entrepreneurs considering starting a business in Illinois. Multiple aspects of business ownership will be discussed, including the legal aspects of starting a business in Illinois and the importance of a business plan. A listing of agencies that support small businesses also will be provided. The fee is $25.
“Measuring Social Media Results” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. The seminar teaches students how to determine if a social media campaigns is working. Businesses want healthy response and results for marketing investments. This session covers capturing, measuring and using results of social media marketing to improve and deploy for better results. The fee is $35.
“Business Planning Essentials” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18. For businesses going out for capital or looking to drive a greater margin, a business plan is essential. This seminar teaches students what to include in a business plan, how to protect cash flow, what to include in the narrative and financials and what bankers feel is crucial for business plans. The fee is $35.
“Market Research for Small Business” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26. This seminar features a hands-on approach to market research designed to help business owners learn more about industry, customers and competition to compete effectively. The fee is $35.
