Car fire in Crystal Lake slows traffic

CRYSTAL LAKE – A car fire at Route 14 and Main Street in Crystal Lake could slow traffic in the area.

Firefighters from Crystal Lake Fire Rescue extinguished the fire by 3:15 and remained on scene to clear the area. The car was on the side of the road when the fire started on the passenger's side, said Deputy Chief Paul DeRaedt.

All passengers had evacuated the vehicle when firefighters arrived, he said.
