Published: Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 10:31 p.m. CDT

Local photographers have a chance to win cash prizes for capturing sites managed or preserved by The Land Conservancy of McHenry County.

The organization is asking for applicants for its 6th Annual Art of the Land Amateur Photography Contest.

Those who apply will be given a specific TLC site. They’ll have until August 22 to capture inspiring images. The organization will hand out seven cash prizes at its Art of the Land Benefit Art Show on Sept. 19 and 20 at the Starline Gallery in Harvard.

The Land Conservancy is a McHenry County nonprofit working with landowners and local communities to preserve and restore natural, scenic and agricultural land.

For information about the contest and how to enter, visit TLC’s website at www.conservemc.org and click the “photo contest” box toward the bottom right of the page.
