Refuse and recyclable collection will be delayed a day this week for all municipalities serviced by MDC Environmental Services.

If collections are able to pick back up Tuesday, they will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week. Friday collections will be made on Saturday.

The company was yet to make a decision on Tuesday's collections as of Monday afternoon.

The City of Crystal Lake issued a press release on the topic Monday morning: "Due to the severe winter weather, MDC Environmental Services, the City's refuse contractor, will not conduct refuse and recyclable collection on Monday, January 27, 2014," it read, in part.

Other McHenry County municipalities serviced by MDC include Harvard, Huntley, Lakewood, Marengo, McCullom Lake, Union, Wonder Lake and Woodstock.

Residents with questions are asked to contact MDC Environmental Services at (815) 568-7274.
