Caldwell: Chamber foundation leadership campaign aims to sparkle this year

Published: Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 4:25 p.m. CDT

The Crystal Lake Chamber Foundation is fortunate to have a committed group of action-oriented visionary leaders heading up its new GEM (Generous, Enthusiastic, Motivated) development campaign with the theme “Be Brilliant.”

The GEM initiative includes fundraising for retiring the remaining debt on the building’s renovation and supporting the foundation’s scholarship, internship and career exploration programs.

Speaking of gems, the foundation is pleased to support the Crystal Lake Chamber’s Leaders In Action “Learn, Grow, Lead” program again this year. The foundation has selected seven outstanding scholarship recipients from our community who are attending this meaningful program.

The foundation’s first annual GEM “Be Brilliant” Leadership Luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Crystal Lake Country Club. We will be honoring our original 5 Karat and above GEM’s donors, Advocate Good Shepherd, Foglia Family Foundation/SAGE Products, Dorion-Gray Retirement Planning, Home State Bank N.A., Alliance Contractors Inc., and Bob and Rosemary Blazier. We will pay a special tribute to guest speaker and honoree Bob Blazier.

Tickets for the leadership luncheon are limited. Reservations can be made by emailing Jackie Ruiz at jruiz@clchamber.com or visiting clchamberfoundation.org. Information on how to become a GEM board member and donor also is available on the foundation’s website.

As we begin a new year, we invite you to become a GEM and/or create a scholarship in your company’s, colleague’s or a loved one’s name. Your support helps the chamber foundation expand and strengthen opportunities for leadership.
