PRAIRIE GROVE - One man was transported to the hospital Thursday morning after swerving off the road and into a concrete wall.

A four-door sedan traveling on Route 176 in Prairie Grove crashed into the wall near Buhl Road. A male driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Prairie Grove Police Department.

Slippery road conditions from drifting snow played a roll in the crash, the police department said

The road was briefly closed in both directions as a tow truck removed the vehicle.

Strong winds in upwards of 45 MPH and drifting snow are causing hazardous travel conditions across the area, and McHenry County will continue to see problems with up to an inch of snow expected this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
