WOODSTOCK – Three McHenry County women could face up to more than 30 years in prison after police levied drug conspiracy charges against them following an undercover investigation.

Those charged are Serena M. Mee, 39, of 1904 Orchard Beach in McHenry; Brenda S. Haseman, 59, of 8013 East St. in Spring Grove; and Bridget A. Murphy, 38, of 8013 East St. in Spring Grove.

All three women were charged with two Class X felonies and multiple lesser charges.

The two Class X felonies – calculated criminal drug conspiracy delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school – are each punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

The Thursday arrests followed a monthlong undercover investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force, Lake in the Hills Police Department, Spring Grove Police Department and McCullom Lake Police Department.

During the investigation, multiple undercover purchases of heroin from the women were conducted.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Task Force acted on a search warrant for the Spring Grove address Thursday and seized approximately 13.7 grams of heroin, 27 Xanax pills, 10 methylphenidate hydrochloride pills, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, $521 and a 2001 GMC Jimmy.

Officers estimate the street value of $1,180 for the seized drugs.

Mee is being held on $350,000 bond while Haseman is being held on $300,000 bond and Murphy on $150,000 bond.

Their next court appearance is 9 a.m. Tuesday at the McHenry County Courthouse.
