CRYSTAL LAKE – Martin Chevrolet is seeking permission from the Crystal Lake City Council to expand its Route 14 dealership.

Martin Chevrolet is planning phased renovations to its property at 5220 Northwest Highway, according to city documents. A drive-through car wash would be added to the west side of the service building, and additions are planned to the existing sales building. A new entry monument and three flag poles also have been proposed. Several of the buildings on the site would be connected as part of the overhaul.

The dealership is asking the city for a special use permit amendment and several variations. The Crystal Lake Planning and Zoning Commission previously voted to approve the request. The Crystal Lake City Council could consider the request at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 100 W. Woodstock St.
