Hundreds of flights canceled at Chicago airports

CHICAGO – Airlines at Chicago's two major airports have canceled about 330 flights because of a storm that's dumping up to six inches of snow in the city.

The city's Department of Aviation says more than 290 flights are canceled at O'Hare International Airport on Wednesday. Delays are averaging about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile at Midway International Airport, about 40 flights have been canceled. Delays are also being reported there because of de-icing.

The National Weather Service in Romeoville says snow in the area is expected to taper off around noon, although winds are expected to cause more blowing and drifting snow.
