Local business group for women takes new name

McHENRY – Women in McHenry County (WIM3), formerly Women in Management recently announced a new name and look. 

WIM3 focuses on meeting, mentoring and motivating its members and guests to enhance their business and personal lives.

“Our emphasis on engaging women professionally and personally creates an excellent environment for those who desire to be developed,” WIM3 President Karen Franzen said in a news release. “We are continuing to offer a place where women can flourish and embrace their purpose in life.”  

Monthly breakfast meetings are held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. the third Thursday of each month at 31 North Banquets, 217 N. Front St., McHenry. The cost of the meeting is $17 for members and $25 for guests. For information, email Karen Franzen at karen.franzen@lacunavinea.org.

The group will host a scholarship fundraiser from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Four Colonies Clubhouse, 480 There will be chocolate dessert tastings, wine, fellowship and a silent auction. The cost is $15. To RSVP, email leann@bitofaboost.com.

WIM3 provides one or more annual $1,000 scholarships to a woman who has experienced challenges during her educational journey.
