Wind chill advisory in effect Thursday afternoon

A wind chill advisory is in effect for McHenry County starting Thursday afternoon and continuing through 11 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chill values Thursday night into Friday morning could reach as low as 20-to-30 below zero. If you must go outside during this time, the NWS strongly recommends wearing a hat and gloves.
