Environmental nonprofit offers scholarships

VOLO – The Friends of Volo Bog are offering scholarships for students pursuing an environmental career.

The nonprofit, which works to ensure the continued preservation of the Volo Bog State Natural Area, has two $1,000 scholarships – one for students entering college and another for those continuing their education.

Applicants must reside or have a permanent address in Lake, McHenry, Kane, Cook, DuPage, Kendall or Will counties and meet other residency and academic criteria.

Applications are due March 31.
