UNION – Family treasures – like an old coin collected by a grandfather or a childhood doll that family lore says belonged to a famous relative – can be appraised at an upcoming event hosted by the McHenry County Historical Society.
The antique appraisal event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at the society's museum, 6422 Main St., Union.
A 10-minute slot can be reserved in advance by calling the museum at 815-923-2267. The attendee must arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time to confirm and pay for the appointment.
Walk-ins also are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost is $5 an object with a maximum of three appraisals per person.
Proceeds benefit the McHenry County Historical Society.
