WOODSTOCK – Two more people have come forward claiming they also were victims of Charles R. Oliver, the Woodstock man police say raped women he met through Craigslist.

Oliver, 45, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of criminal sexual assault Monday, according to a press release from the Woodstock Police Department.

The charges pile on to a long list of alleged offenses that include kidnapping and unlawful restraint.

Oliver, previously of 407 W. Greenwood Ave., Woodstock, was already at the McHenry County Jail on $3.5 million bond. Monday’s charges – Class X and Class 1 felonies, respectively – added $500,000 to that total.

The two alleged victims make a total of eight people who have come forward in the case.

So far during court proceedings, a judge has heard testimony on what evidence can and can’t be used during the trials – the first of which is set for Feb. 24.

Prosecutors said Oliver choked, threatened and raped women in a locked room or basement.

Many of the women were escorts or prostitutes who originally agreed to sex for money, prosecutors say.

Police say other victims could still exist. Those with information on the case are encouraged to contact the Woodstock Police Department’s Investigation Division at 815-338-2131.
