WOODSTOCK – Woodstock Police Deputy Chief John Lieb has graduated from Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command.

The 10-week program covers topics such as leadership, human resources and budgeting, among others. Lieb was one of 41 students to complete the course in January.

The Woodstock Police Department "anticipates a variety of benefits" from Lieb's completion of the program, according to a release from the department.

"Many of the program's graduates do go on to achieve a variety of leadership positions within their respective departments," the release said.
