McHenry County Sheriff's Office seeks suspect in Crystal Lake burglary

WOODSTOCK – The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating the suspect in a burglary Wednesday at a home in unincorporated Crystal Lake.

At 9:55 a.m., a caller was inside the home when there was a knock on the door. The resident did not answer, and a short time later the suspect forced entry into the home, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The caller confronted the suspect who fled the scene on foot. No one was injured.

The incident happened in the 3600 Block of Burton Trail in unincorporated Crystal Lake. The man last was seen running eastbound on Tulip Street.

The Sheriff's Office has increased patrols in the area.

The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male, about 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a ski mask and faded dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
