CRYSTAL LAKE – As it trains employees ahead of its opening Feb. 24, Texas Roadhouse will feed local police and firefighters and host charity events.

On Feb. 21 and 22, the restaurant will host invitation-only pre-opening events to raise money for the Home of the Sparrows, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, and Habitat for Humanity, according to a news release.

“Both of these incredible organizations help hundreds of local families each year,” Managing Partner Michael Kull said in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with these wonderful organizations and can’t imagine a better way to celebrate our opening than by helping agencies that serve so many families across this community.”

The restaurant brings 175 new jobs, according to the release.

Texas Roadhouse, 385 Cog Circle, has taken over the space formerly occupied by T.G.I. Friday’s near the intersection of Routes 14 and 31.

The Kentucky-based chain has more than 400 locations in 48 states and two international locations in Dubai and Kuwait.
