McHenry Township Fire Protection District to host ice safety class

McHENRY – Residents looking to get in a little more ice skating, fishing or other cold weather fun can brush up on safety tips with the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.

The district will conduct an Ice Safety Awareness Class from 9 to 11 a.m. March 8 at Station No. 1, 316 W. Elm St. in McHenry.

Firefighters will discuss ice safety tips for skating, fishing, snowmobiling and sledding. Members of the dive team will review ice rescue techniques and equipment that can help in case of an emergency.
