McClellan has integrity

To the Editor:

County clerk candidate Nick Provenzano – the self-proclaimed watchdog – voted to spend $82,000 a year including expenses of taxpayer money on a federal lobbyist for his current boss – Randy Hultgren.

This contractor is given the right to a raise of up to 6 percent per year for the next two years. Do we not have elected representatives for this purpose?

See agenda item 15.2.B.9.a for the McHenry County Board meeting for Nov. 5, 2013.

Who is watching the self-proclaimed watchdog?

Nick also proposes to modernize the election process to be like other counties at the taxpayers’ expense of $4 million. No thanks.

I will vote for Mary McClellan. She demonstrates leadership and integrity through her actions, not only words.

Joe Smith
