Wind chill advisory in effect at midnight

Published: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 7:34 a.m. CDT

Dangerously cold wind chills are in the forecast for Wednesday morning.

A wind chill advisory will be in effect starting at midnight and will continue through noon on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Very cold air and 10 to 20 MPH winds will have wind chill values anywhere from 20 to 30 degrees below zero.

These temperatures will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken, the weather service said.

The arctic air will remain in the area for the remainder of the week, as lows are expected in the single digits or below zero through the weekend.
