CRYSTAL LAKE – The Crystal Lake Police Department is looking for three men involved in an incident Saturday.

The men approached a Crystal Lake resident, who is a senior citizen, about doing some work on the exterior of the resident's house, according to an alert from the Crystal Lake Police Department. An agreement was reached, and the men were paid.

When one of the men showed the resident their work, the other two entered the home, the alert said. The resident realized what was happening and said he would call the police.

The three men fled, but it appears they had searched the resident's bedroom, the release said.

All three men were white, the alert said. One was about 45 years old with gray stubble on his face, about 5 foot 5 with a medium build and was wearing cold-weather clothing and blue-tinted sunglasses.

Another was 18 to 20 years old, 5 foot 7 with a slim build and wearing cold-weather clothing, and the third was 21 to 23 years old, 5 foot 7 with a medium build and also wearing cold-weather clothing.

The men spoke English with an accent as well as another language, which was not Spanish, the release said. They were driving a medium-green, two-door standard pickup truck with a silver or gray tank mounted in the bed directly behind the cab.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620.
