CRYSTAL LAKE – Greek’s Pizzeria of Crystal Lake has been busy since it opened last week.

The restaurant was scheduled to open in mid-December at the former Wild Orchid Thai Bistro space next to Best Buy. It opened Feb. 17 at 6000 Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake and has been busy since then, a company representative said this week.

A message on the restaurant's website reads "we're finally open." It's Facebook page had 30 reviews as of Wednesday morning with an average rating of 4.7 stars out of 5. The page had 471 "Likes."

Proprietor Archie "A.C." Soulidis previously told the Northwest Herald that the location would be the first Greek’s Pizzeria to operate outside of Indiana. The restaurant started in 1969 and was franchised in the 1990s. There are 14 locations in Indiana.

In addition to pizza, the menu features garlic butter breadsticks, calzones, gyro sandwiches and salads. Dine-in and carry-out options are available, as well as catering.
