Picking up the tab

To the Editor:

On Feb. 21, my husband and I went to Tony’s restaurant on McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake for lunch.

As we were finishing our meal, the waitress informed us that someone picked up our check and paid for our meal. She said he wanted to be anonymous.

I want this person to know that you did so much more than just pay for our lunch. That day was a very hard day for us, and your act of kindness lifted our spirits and brought tears to our eyes.

Thank you so much for being a caring human being. Words don’t describe what you did for us that day. Please know that we can’t thank you enough. It wasn’t just the meal you helped us with, you touched our souls that day.

May God bless you and thank you so much for your kindness.
