Wolf in sheep’s clothing

To the Editor:

Nick Provenzano doesn’t get it.

He knowingly participated in a meeting that attempted to gerrymander the map of his County Board district so he could garner enough votes to win his election – a meeting which was determined to be illegal by the attorney general. He essentially wanted to choose which voters could vote for him, instead of letting the voters decide whether he was qualified to serve on the County Board.

Now Provenzano wants our vote so he can oversee elections for all of McHenry County. This is the proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I urge all voters to support the other Republican candidate for county clerk, Mary McClellan. Mary will honestly and openly carry out the duties of the clerk, and make sure all residents of McHenry County are treated fairly.
