Centegra offers vascular screenings

CRYSTAL LAKE – The Centegra Wellness on the Move mobile health unit will offer vascular screenings in several McHenry County communities this month.

Vascular disease is among the leading causes of death in the U.S. but generally doesn't show symptoms until a something like a stroke or aneurysm rupture happens.

The screening provides immediate preliminary results for tests designed to detect plaque buildup on the carotid artery, blockage risk and peripheral arterial disease, atrial fibrillation and risk level for an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Participants will also receive their body mass index as well as pulse and blood pressure numbers.

Follow-up reports completed by a Centegra Health System radiologist are mailed to the patient within one week. The screening costs $129.

The screenings will be available 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Centegra Physician Care-Huntley, 10350 Haligus Road; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Centegra Hospital-McHenry, 4309 Medical Center Drive; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Centegra Physician Care-Spring Grove, 1906 Holian Drive; and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Woodstock Recreation Center, 820 Lake Ave.
