CRYSTAL LAKE – A grand opening for the new Goodwill store, 1016 Central Park Drive, next to Walmart, will start at 9 a.m. March 27.

The store includes a 400-square-foot Community Room. Local groups and organizations can use the classroom-style space – which has seating for 30, Internet connectivity and audio visual equipment – for free.

It also will include a drive-thru donation center that allows donors to more easily and quickly drop off their items without having to enter the store, according to a news release.

The store is open seven days a week: from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to serve the citizens of Crystal Lake and surrounding communities,” said Sam Schmitz, president of Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois. “We look forward to collaborating with other nonprofits in the area to assist each other in meeting our respective missions. We also look forward to our long-term commitment to Crystal Lake.”
