Grosse: Marengo-Union Chamber plans events for April

Published: Friday, March 14, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

Twelve years ago, Deb Hauschildt and I enthusiastically directed chamber activities and were recently rehired with the mission of further developing chamber benefits relating to the Marengo-Union business and residential communities.

With April just around the corner, there’s much excitement around town and chamber has a number of events planned for spring.

We will be hosting the Marengo-Union Chamber of Commerce’s 25th annual Home and Business Expo. It will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 at Marengo Community High School, 110 Franks Road, Marengo. With the arrival of warm spring weather, we believe attendance will be plentiful. Booths are available. Request a registration form to reserve one.

There will be a business luncheon April 16 at Marengo City Hall, 132 E. Prairie St. Marengo Police Chief Joseph Hallman will be the keynote speaker. He will discuss the state’s concealed carry law. The cost to attend is $10 a person.

Our annual Community Clean Sweep will be from 9 to 11 a.m. April 26. We’ll meet at Marengo Community High School for assignments, supplies and a light snack. Volunteers are needed for this community beautification program.

Marengo Ridge Golf Club will be hosting a combined Business After Hours Mixer for the benefit of Marengo-Union Chamber members and Hampshire Chamber members from 5 to 7 p.m. April 29 at Marengo Ridge Golf Club, 9106 Harmony Hill Road. Light snacks and beverages will be served.

We encourage our members to take advantage of these valuable networking activities. For information, call us at 815-568-6680.
