A Fox Lake man was arrested Thursday after an investigation found he was storing child pornography on electronic devices at his home.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office Cybercrimes Unit began the investigation in January, and on March 6 a search warrant was executed for Stephen A. O'Dette, 61, of the 0-100 block of Highview Ave. in Fox Lake.

An "extensive amount of pornography" was found on electronic storage devices, according to a Lake County Sheriff's Office news release. A forensic examination of the electronic devices identified numerous pornographic pictures, many of which were identified to be child pornography.

O'Dette was charged with six counts of Possession of Child Pornography, three of which are class 2 felonies and three of which are class 3.

His bond was set at $300,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court March 24.

Based on the amount of pornography found on the electronic devices, additional charges may be sought pending further investigation, the release said.
