Alzheimer's speaker coming to Woodstock library

WOODSTOCK – A woman from the Alzheimer's Association will speak on the disease Thursday at the Woodstock Public Library.

Sue Sklar, of the Greater Illinois Chapter of the association, will present "The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease" at 10 a.m. at the library, 414 W. Judd St. The event is scheduled to last until 11:30 a.m.

Sklar will address detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, and treatment, among other topics.

Those who are affected by Alzheimer's or dementia, or know someone who is, are encouraged to attend.
