CRYSTAL LAKE – Black Ink Tattoo, 540 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, is raising funds for cancer research this month by donating half the cost of cancer ribbon tattoos to the Lymphoma Research Foundation in Chicago.

President Dan Serafino said he was inspired to create the “March is Margie” event by a customer who was diagnosed with cancer, Margie Galka.

Through the end of the month, Black Ink Tattoo is offering $50 cancer ribbon tattoos in various colors to raise awareness.

Half of the cost of each cancer ribbon tattoo will be donated to the Lymphoma Research Foundation at the end of the month, Serafino said.

“We really wanted [Margie] to know we are there for her,” he said.
