Police shoot, kill domestic violence suspect

SLEEPY HOLLOW – Police shot and killed a suspect in a domestic violence incident who slashed a knife at them Sunday, according to a news release from the Sleepy Hollow Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of domestic violence near Hemlock Drive and Maple Lane just before noon and found “multiple victims outside of the residence,” the release said.

When they arrived, the suspect – whose details weren’t released Sunday – was still in pursuit of a female who was already bleeding from the head.

The suspect didn’t comply with the officers’ wishes and instead pulled a knife, slashing it toward them. Officers then shot the suspect, who died as a result of the injuries, the release said.

The officers have been placed on paid administrative leave.

The release didn’t detail the nature of injuries suffered by the victims of domestic abuse or provide their conditions. Sleepy Hollow police couldn’t be reached for comment Sunday night.
