To the Editor:
It hurts me that you endorse Bruce Rauner for the Republican candidacy for governor of the state of Illinois on the basis of his wanting term limits for state offices.
We already have term limits; they are called elections.
Also, the financial mess in which Illinois is in can be blamed on both parties, not only the Democrats. There has to be a willingness to work for the good of the people, not just for the good of the party.
What political science courses did Bruce Rauner take in college? How much history does he know – of America and the world? What philosophy or social science or dreams does he know or have for our state?
Choosing a candidate based on negatives is no way to run the state. Surely a newspaper like yours can do better. Thank you.
