HUNTLEY –  A 40-year-old woman sustained severe injuries after her 2008 Ford Expedition collided with a semi truck at Route 47 and Kreutzer Road, police said.

The woman was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, said Deputy Chief Mike Klunk. He did not have her condition.

About 10:20 a.m a semi truck driven by a 44-year-old man from Sebastian, Texas was going south on Route 47 when it jackknifed and collided with the 2008 Ford Expedition driven by the Marengo woman who was going east on Kreutzer Road.

The names of either driver were not released.

The intersection was closed for about five hours while Huntley Police, the State Police and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the accident.

Police re-opened the intersection about 3:30 p.m.

The accident is still under investigation, Klunk said.
