Tradition of excellence

Published: Sunday, March 16, 2014 5:30 a.m. CST

To the Editor:

With the upcoming retirement of our impeccable county clerk, Katherine Schultz, we need the tradition of excellence to continue. That’s why I’m supporting Nick Provenzano.

We need a clerk who’s a fiscal conservative, unlike another candidate who, as a County Board member, tried to manipulate a salary increase for the clerk’s office she is running for. Nick voted against it.

We need an elected official who will stand by the job they are elected to do. Nick has fought for lower taxes on the County Board for 10 years, unlike another candidate who is running for another office before even finishing her first year on the board with less than a 50 percent attendance rate. We need a county clerk we can trust to do the job in an honest and ethical way. We need Nick Provenzano.
