Zinke offers thanks

To the Editor:

As a member of the sheriff’s office, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many great people during the past 25 years.

It is their willingness to volunteer in our community that helps to make this county great. Running for a political office gives you the opportunity to meet many hardworking and caring people who give of their time, talents and financial contributions. All of you deserve praise.

I am so very proud of the over 400 men and women of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. You’ll likely never hear about most of them. They took an oath as a deputy sheriff, correction officer or court security officer to protect and serve, and they do it well. Our civilian staff members do an outstanding job.

To all of you who spend our days planning, preparing and responding to the unforeseen dangers that face this community, I say, “Thank you.”

Andrew Zinke

Republican candidate for sheriff
