WOODSTOCK – As part of its We Choose Health initiative, the McHenry County Department of Health is offering a free resource for area employers to qualify for a healthy worksite designation.

Funded through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the worksite wellness designation was created to engage workplaces in healthy practices that benefit the employer and employee. The three-year designation includes Gold, Silver and Bronze achievement levels. MCDH will provide resources and ideas for employers to meet the criteria.

Employers achieving the healthy worksite designation will be recognized by the Governor’s Council on Health & Fitness, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.
