To the Editor:
As a conservative and life long Republican, I am truly saddened to see that Joe Walsh is permitted even a moment to speak at GOP events, and, worse, is considered by the more extreme members of our party as representing our future.
Joe Walsh’s record is appalling. He is apparently so fiscally conservative that he does not believe in paying his own bills or child support. His comments on rape and immigrants are well-known and are the epitome of everything that is wrong with the Republican Party today.
Political conservatism once meant limiting the influence of government in citizens’ lives and taking a considerate, measured approach to changing social institutions. It should not be about tearing the walls of our society down.
If Joe Walsh is the future of the McHenry County Republican Party, then there is no future for our party, and that is truly a shame.
