Beware of local tea party

Published: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

The Northwest Herald reported Feb. 16 on a GOP get-together where far right-wing tea party member, Breitbart groupie, Tea Party in Space founder (as ridiculous as this sounds, it is true) and County Board District 1 hopeful Andrew Gasser raved about the significance of the takeover of the County Board’s Republican Party members because they are not radical enough.

The tea party agenda and its profoundly perverted attempts to systematically dismantle government and the Constitution should bring attention to politics on the local level, specifically in McHenry County.

Gasser wants to be a politician by any means, and the duplicity he will use to get there is deceptive and misleading. He wants to be on McHenry County Mental Health Board so he can downsize and outsource it. Gasser’s signs say Republican when in truth he is tea party.

This is a dangerous precedent for McHenry County. If you want to know who wants to take over McHenry County, follow the money. It will lead you to who is advising him and putting their ideas into his head and steering him away from what is right for us, not them, the tea party.

It’s not only the candidate who wants the office, it’s whom they will bring with them. The tea party shut down our government. They stand for privatizing Medicare and Social Security.

They are too radical for McHenry County. The tea party will steal McHenry County blind then tell us how bad government is.
