Huntley seeks local artists to celebrate history

HUNTLEY – Local artists can help Huntley honor its first 100 years, as part of the countywide "Look at Local History" event.

Huntley's historical groups are looking for artists to craft paintings and drawings based on historical buildings, structures, landscapes, people and events during Huntley's first 100 years, spanning from 1851 to 1951.

Interested artists can sign-out canvas or illustration paper from the Huntley Park District office until April 25. The district will accept submissions from May 1 to May 9 at the office, 12015 Mill St.

The winners will be announced during the Huntley Farmers' Market on May 24. For more information, contact the Park District at (847) 669-3180.
