WOODSTOCK – Two Woodstock businesses were in violation of the law during a recent tobacco compliance check.

Employees of Mobil Gas, 2025 S. Eastwood Drive, and Shell Gas, 110 N. Eastwood Drive, were cited for selling tobacco to a minor, according to a news release from the Woodstock Police Department.

Police visited 28 tobacco retailers during the check.

The store employees who sold the tobacco products to minors were issued citations and have a Must Appear Administrative Hearing date of April 10 at Woodstock City Hall, the release said.

Woodstock police received help from the McHenry County Health Department during compliance checks.
