Suburban Christian Conference

Blue Division

Marian Central

Head coach: Erin Widmayer (third season)

Last year’s record: 7-14 overall, 5-9 SCC Blue (third)

Top returning players: Sarah Schaefer, jr., OF; Hannah O’Hagan, jr., C-IF; Ashley Daniels, jr., 1B-P; Katie Franger, jr., OF; Mary Black, jr., 3B; Taylor Anderson, so., P-2B.

Top newcomers: Jenny Giesey, fr., P-SS; Michaela Faunce, fr., C-OF; Jackie Chimel, fr., SS-2B; Emily Miller, fr., 1B-OF; Emily Redecki, fr., OF-1B; Ryan Klinger, fr., 2B-SS; Maddie Peters, fr., P-SS.

Worth noting: Although Marian only has one level again this season, Widmayer is optimistic with six returning players and group of 12 incoming freshmen on varsity. The Hurricanes will need players to step up, but Widmayer doesn’t think that will be an issue. “I believe this group is very capable of doing just that,” Widmayer said. “We want to improve from last year’s record and have many attainable goals.”
