There will be an NFL draft party for former Johnsburg football player C.J. Fiedorowicz from 5 to 10 p.m. May 9 at Raymond’s Bowl & Entertainment Center in Johnsburg.
That is the night for Rounds 2 and 3 of the 2014 NFL Draft. Fiedorowicz, a tight end from Iowa, is expected to be selected in the second or third round. Lee Ann Fiedorowicz arranged the party so her son could celebrate his big moment with family and friends.
“He was asked to go to Radio City Music Hall [for the first round], but he wanted to be in Johnsburg with his friends,” Lee Ann said. “He said, ‘It’s going to be so much fun. I might shed a tear when they call my name.’ ”
Fiedorowicz is 6-foot-5, 265 pounds and is ranked as one of the top five tight ends in the draft. He was the 2009 Northwest Herald Football Player of the Year and the 2010 Northwest Herald Male Athlete of the Year.
Lee Ann Fiedorowicz has pre-signed trading cards from the Senior Bowl her son has autographed. Fans also can get pictures with Fiedorowicz, the band LOL will be playing from 8 to 10 p.m. and sponsors CLM Insurance and Adams’ Auto Body will provide food.
