BARRINGTON - Three people were transported to the hospital after an accident Tuesday morning in Barrington.

Around 7:15 a.m. eastbound Route 62 was shut down east of Route 59 while crews cleared the scene of a four-car accident, according to the Barrington Hills Police Department.

Barrington Countryside Fire Protection Chief Donald Wenschhof III said two people with minor injuries and a third person with "moderate" injuries were taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.

The accident on Route 62 has been cleared and traffic is moving normally.
