WOODSTOCK – Funeral arrangements for a Woodstock man who died over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash are set for later this week.

Fredrick Funeral Home in Hampshire confirmed that a visitation for Quinn G. Gieseke will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church at 412 Jackson St.

An older brother of Gieseke's declined to be interviewed for this article but said his brother was well loved. He was a truck driver for Deerpass Farms, a family-owned business.

According to police, 31-year-old Gieseke was driving a pickup truck when, for unknown reasons, exited the northbound lane of Menge Road outside of Marengo. The truck went into a ditch, crossed a private driveway and became airborne. It landed on the driver's side door. Gieseke was the only person in the vehicle. The crash happened at 3:40 a.m. Sunday.

Gieseke was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said he died of multiple blunt-force injuries.

A Facebook profile believed to belong to Gieseke said he attended Marengo Community High School.

The results of a toxicology screen, a routine procedure in motor vehicle crashes, are still pending. The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
