ALGONQUIN – The village is planning its annual spring cleanup to take place over the course of three Saturdays.
The village wide cleanup program will be for all single-family houses and townshomes that receive residential refuse and recycling services, the village said in a news release. The program is to encourage residents to reduce fire hazards in their houses and spruce up their neighborhoods.
Collection stickers are not required for this cleanup, the village said. Items such as toys, old clothes, couches, beds, dressers, grills and patio furniture will be accepted.
Automobile parts, landscape waste, white goods and construction materials will not be accepted, the village said.
Items must be curbside by 7 a.m. of the residents' cleanup dates.
The east portion of town will have items picked up on April 5; the central portion of town is scheduled for pick up on April 12; and the west portion of town is scheduled for April 19.
