Published: Wednesday, April 2, 2014 2:00 p.m. CDT

RINGWOOD – The ancient oak barrens landscape at Glacial Park will be the site of the annual Weekend of Restoration.

The McHenry County Conservation District's award-winning program will return the weekend of April 25 to 27.

Participants will learn about the Illinois landscape and the ecological influences of Native American peoples and European settlers – as well as eating meals together and relaxing around the campfire.

The deadline to register is April 18, and registration is capped at 30 people.

The program is open to those 16 and up, and costs $70 for adults, $50 for seniors 60 and up and $35 for students. A second registration costs $20 less.

The fee includes meals, and participants can camp at Glacial Park for free that weekend. Indoor restrooms and showers are available.

For more information or to register, contact Tom Simpson at (815) 678-4532, Ext. 8218, or tsimpson@mccdistrict.org.
