WOODSTOCK – A Darien, Wis., man is facing charges in McHenry County for allegedly possessing pornographic images of children.

Jeffrey A. Vesley, 52, of 39B Wisconsin Road, was charged Tuesday with 13 counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, he possessed various still images and video of clips of children under 18 who were engaged in sex acts.

The investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department began in August 2013 when detectives obtained a computer that contained several child pornography images. The computer was later searched and “hundreds” of additional images believed to be child pornography were found, Crystal Lake police said in a news release.

Vesley remains in custody at McHenry County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.

Each charge against him is a Class 2 felony with a sentencing range between three and seven years in prison.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children assisted with the investigation.
