To the Editor:
I’m not in any way knocking any fire department. I know they all put their lives on the line for all of us.
But can someone please explain when there is some type of accident, such as the car in the pond in Algonquin, why so many other fire departments are called.
In this incident, there were 12 fire departments called for assistance plus a water rescue team, which brought an additional 30 personnel and 11 pieces of equipment. Who pays for all of this? Each town, or the town who put out the call?
